[IV-Jobs] Student Job | Transport Simulation | Deadline: September 18

Rehmann, Jakob Benjamin rehmann at vsp.tu-berlin.de
Fr Sep 12 12:56:20 CEST 2025

Dear Students,

Our department, Transport System Planning and Traffic Telematics, is currently hiring new student assistants. We are co-developers of MATSim (Multi-Agent Transport Simulation), an open-source framework for large-scale, agent-based traffic simulations. We are seeking motivated support for both our research projects (see https://www.tu.berlin/vsp/forschung/projekte/laufende-projekte) and our teaching activities.

The tasks of our student assistants are diverse and may include:

- Programming (e.g., writing integration tests)
- Analyzing simulation results
- Conducting literature research

We therefore welcome applications from students with programming skills (e.g., Java) and a strong interest in transport-related topics. Familiarity with traffic planning software (e.g., MATSim) and GIS tools (e.g., QGIS) is desirable, but not required. Importantly, we also encourage students at the beginning of their studies to apply, as most skills can be acquired "on the job."

We particularly encourage students who have successfully completed courses at our department to apply, as you will already be familiar with some of our core topics.

Application deadline: September 17, 2025
Official job posting: https://www.jobs.tu-berlin.de/stellenausschreibungen/197732
Salary: €14.32/hour (a €2 raise is planned)

Please send your application (German or English), including a CV, proof of enrollment, and current transcript, to bewerbung at vsp.tu-berlin.de<mailto:bewerbung at vsp.tu-berlin.de>. For questions, you are welcome to contact me directly.

Best regards,
